Driver Killed in Monroe
A man died after his speeding vehicle went out of control and hit a barrier on the Gulf Freeway at Monroe early today, police said.
The Houston Chronicle reports that the man was southbound at high speed and struck the concrete barrier that separates the main lanes and the HOV lane, police said.
The accident occurred shortly after 1 a.m.
The driver's name was not released pending positive identification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office, police said.
