Fiery Wreck in Fort Worth

A man believed to be a 37-year-old Burleson resident died early Tuesday when the pickup truck he was driving wrecked and burst into flames on Interstate 30 in west Fort Worth, police said.

Officers did not release the man's name because he was severely burned and he was not positively identified Tuesday morning.

The Fort Worth News states, the wreck was reported 2:16 a.m. in the 2400 block of the interstate, according to reports.

Investigators reported that the four-door Chevrolet truck was eastbound on I-30 and it may have just entered on the entrance ramp from University Drive, said Lt. Paul Henderson, police spokesman.

"For unknown reasons the truck lost control and struck the center concrete barrier knocking over a retaining fence and a light post," Henderson said. "The truck burst into flames."

The driver was the only person in the truck, and no other vehicles appeared to be involved in the wreck, Henderson said. There was no evidence "that alcohol was a factor," Henderson said.

"The driver is believed to be a white male, (and a) 37-year-old Burleson resident," Henderson added. "However, positive identification will take some time due to the condition of the body."

Investigators want to talk to anyone who witnessed the accident, Henderson said. They can be reached at 817-871-7148.
