Young Man Injured in SUV Crash
A 19-year-old man was critically injured when he crashed into two utility poles Thursday morning on the city's northeast side.
Police said the teen was speeding when he crashed his GMC Yukon into a utility pole at the intersection of Classen and Briarcrest at 3 a.m.
The San Antonio News reported, the impact sliced the SUV in half, police said.
He then crashed into a second utility pole, police said.
Rescue crews had to use the Jaws Of Life to free the victim from the vehicle.
He was taken to University Hospital in critical condition.
Police are investigating whether the teen was drinking at the time of the crash.
