Tanker Truck Accident

A tanker truck hauling diesel fuel overturned on Preston Road early this morning, forcing the closure of all lanes between Eldorado Parkway and Fisher Road, a Frisco city official said.

The accident was reported at about 2:40 a.m. and investigators hoped to reopen the road by 10 a.m., said Frisco spokeswoman Dana Baird.

The Dallas Morning News reports, The single-vehicle accident occurred when the tanker veered off the roadway and landed in a ditch.

Both the truck’s driver and passenger were injured, but the extent of their injuries were not immediately known, Ms. Baird said. One person was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital and the other was taken to a second hospital.

Police were working to determine the cause of the accident.

The tanker that overturned can carry up to 1700 gallons of diesel fuel. Crews were working to offload the fuel to two trucks
