The driver of the truck was 54-year-old Will Jack Lindsey, Jr. Lindsey was driving his Ford pickup eastbound on FM709 when he swerved into the westbound lanes, colliding head-on with Coley and Nelson’s motorcycles. McCluney was riding on Nelson’s motorcycle when the accident occurred.
After striking the two motorcycles, Lindsey’s truck overturned, striking two more motorcycles in the process.
What caused Lindsey to swerve into the westbound lanes remains unclear.
More than 30 motorcycles were participating in the 90-mile charity ride when the accident occurred on Saturday morning.
