Woman killed by T bus in Fort Worth

A woman was killed after being hit by a T bus in Fort Worth.  The bus was turning south on Houston Street from westbound Sixth Street when it struck pedestrian Judith Vanzant Peterson.  Peterson was in a crosswalk when she was hit.  She was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the bus was visibly shaken and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.  Authorities continue to investigate this tragic incident.

Baylor broadcaster hit by tractor-trailer

Baylor broadcaster John Morris was hit by a truck Tuesday in Waco.  Morris was riding his bicycle and was hit by a tractor-trailer when he tried to change lanes.  Morris was treated and released from a Waco hospital and escaped the incident with relatively minor injuries.  Authorities continue to investigate the accident.

Two injured in Oak Cliff wreck

Two people were injured in a two-car traffic accident at the corner of Hampton Road and Illinois in Oak Cliff.  Authorities report that a car was turning left against traffic when it was struck by an oncoming truck.  The driver and a passenger in the turning car were injured.  These individuals were taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital for treatment.  Another passenger in the vehicle, along with the driver of the truck were not injured in the incident.

Woman dies from injuries in Mineral Wells wreck

A San Antonio woman has died from injuries she sustained in a two-car accident in Palo Pinto County, west of Mineral Wells, last weekend.  Cassidy Grant, 20, died Thursday after fighting for her life in the intensive care unit at John Peter Smith Hospital for five days.  Two other people were injured in the wreck, which occurred when a car turning from a private drive was hit by an oncoming vehicle.  Grant was a passenger in the turning car.  Authorities are continuing to investigate this tragic accident.

Mansfield man died from injuries from head-on crash

A Mansfield man died Sunday from injuries he sustained in a head-on crash in Mansfield on Sunday.  The man, his wife and their 6 year old child were in a Pontiac Bonneville on U.S. 287 when they collided with a GMC Yukon.  The driver of the Bonneville was killed in the accident.  The other driver, and the Bonneville passengers, were taken to area hospitals for treatment.  Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident.

Two drivers killed in head-on crash in Weatherford

Both drivers were killed in a head-on collision early Friday morning in south Weatherford.  The crash occurred on Bethel Road.  Authorities say that a black Chevrolet Tahoe was passing a sedan in a no-passing zone when the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with a pick-up truck that was traveling in the opposite direction.  Both drivers died at the scene.  Two passengers of the Tahoe were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

One injured on wreck on I-35E in Dallas

Burleson man dies in Fort Worth wreck

A Burleson man was killed in a wreck in southeast Fort Worth.  The man, Jason Unger, 37, was killed when the car he was driving slammed into a utility pole on Joel East Road.  He was driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla eastbound on the road when he skidded off the road service.  The wreck occurred near the boundary of Fort Worth and Forest Hill.  Unger died at the scene.

Two killed, two injured in Dallas crash on I-45

Two people were killed while two others were critically injured in a crash on I-45 in Dallas.  A man riding a motorcycle with a group lost control of his bike and crashed near Loop 12.  A tractor-trailer was forced to stop on the road due to the accident.  Minutes later, a Buick sedan crashed into the back of the big rig, pinning several occupants inside the car.  The driver and one passenger of the car died at the scene.  The motorcyclist and another Buick passenger were taken to Baylor University Medical Center with critical injuries.

Motorcyclist dies in Fort Worth wreck

A motorcyclist was killed in a recent west Fort Worth wreck involving his motorcycle and a Ford Escape.  The accident occurred on the exit ramp leading from southbound West Loop 820 to eastbound I-30.  The motorcyclist, Geoffrey Daily, 32, of Fort Worth, was traveling in the right hand lane when the Ford Escape entered his lane.  Witnesses report that Daily took evasive action, but struck the metal railing and wrecked.  Daily was wearing a helmet.  He died approximately five hours after the wreck in the ICU at Texas Health Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital.

Pedestrian injured in downtown wreck

A pedestrian was injured today in an two-car accident in downtown Dallas.  The incident occurred near the intersection of Pearl and San Jacinto.  Authorities say that the first car ran into the second car, which was attempting to turn right onto San Jacinto.  A female pedestrian was standing in front of the second car apparently waiting to cross the road when the wreck occurred.  She was injured when the second car was pushed into her.  The drivers of the cars were not injured.

McKinney man dies in Frisco rollover crash

A 33-year old McKinney man died in a car crash on U.S. Highway 380.  Authorities say that the man's car went off the road and flipped several times before coming to rest behind a house.  It is believed that the man was traveling westbound when he traveled over the median and through opposite lanes of traffic before leaving the road surface.  The man was wearing a seat belt.  He died from injuries sustained in the crash at Centennial Medical Center in Frisco.

Firefighter seriously injured in wreck with stolen truck

A Fort Worth firefighter was seriously injured Sunday when a man drove a stolen truck into his vehicle.  Authorities say that the firefighter was driving in the 5600 block of Bryant Irvin Road near Southwest Loop 820 when he was hit.  The driver of the truck had allegedly recently stolen it and used it to kidnap his ex-girlfriend's four year old grandson.  The firefighter was critically injured in the wreck, and was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital for treatment.  The child was not injured, but was taken to Cook Children's Medical Center as a precaution.  The truck driver faces numerous charges.

Teen killed in one-car crash in The Colony

A teenager was killed Thursday in a one-car crash in The Colony.  Authorities say that the teen was the passenger in a sedan on Highway 121 when the driver, another teenager, crashed into the northbound lanes of the highway near Plano Parkway.  The driver was airlifted to a Dallas hospital for treatment.  Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.

One injured in wreck on Six Flags Drive

One person was injured in a fender-bender today on Six Flags Drive in Arlington.  Authorities say that the accident occurred when a sedan followed to closely to a pickup truck to stop.  The sedan rear-ended the truck, causing injuries to the sedan's passenger.  The roads were wet at the time from recent rains.  Neither driver was injured in the incident.  The passenger is being treated at an area hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

Two-car accident on I-30 injures three

Three people were injured today in a two-car accident on I-30 near the 635 interchange in Mesquite.  Authorities say that the first car pulled over to the side of the highway after experiencing mechanical trouble.  It was then hit by the second car.  The driver of the second car along with two passengers were injured.  They were taken to area hospitals for treatment.  The driver of the car experiencing difficulties was able to escape the wreck unharmed.

Fan hurt in fall at Rangers Ballpark

A fan fell thirty feet trying to catch a foul ball during the 5th inning of Tuesday's Rangers game.  According to the team spokesperson, the fan, a man, fell from the club level into the lower bowl seating area.  The man was conscious and responsive when paramedics reached him, and was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth for further treatment.  Several other spectators were injured when the man landed on them.

Duncanville teen dies after train strikes car

A Duncanville teenager was killed last weekend in a wreck in Oklahoma when the car he was driving was struck by a train. The young man was on a trip to visit family about 180 miles northwest of Dallas, and was the only person in the car when the tragedy occurred.  Investigators say that the car was drug for several blocks before the train was able to stop.  The teenager died of his injuries a short time after the accident.  It is unclear at this time whether the railroad crossing was properly marked or functioning properly.

Two injured in three-car pileup on Woodall Rogers Freeway

Two people were injured in a three-car pileup this afternoon.  The accidents occurred on the Woodall Rogers Freeway in downtown Dallas.  Authorities say that the three cars were traveling westbound towards the exit to I-75, North Central Expressway, when the middle car hit the car in front.  The two front cars stopped abruptly, at which time the third car ran into them.  The injured individuals were riding in the middle car and were taken to area hospitals by ambulance in stable condition.

16 year old girl dies in wreck with truck

A 16 year old girl was killed in a wreck south of Burleson.  The girl was traveling southbound on Tarver Road in a 1994 Isuzu Rodeo when she crashed into a large truck that was parked on the side of the road, facing north.  The truck was a "chipper" truck, a vehicle equipped with machinery to grind and chop tree limbs into wood chips.  Two workers were on top of the truck when the accident happened, but they were not injured.
