Firefighter seriously injured in wreck with stolen truck

A Fort Worth firefighter was seriously injured Sunday when a man drove a stolen truck into his vehicle.  Authorities say that the firefighter was driving in the 5600 block of Bryant Irvin Road near Southwest Loop 820 when he was hit.  The driver of the truck had allegedly recently stolen it and used it to kidnap his ex-girlfriend's four year old grandson.  The firefighter was critically injured in the wreck, and was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital for treatment.  The child was not injured, but was taken to Cook Children's Medical Center as a precaution.  The truck driver faces numerous charges.
