One person was injured in a fender-bender on the service road of southbound Central Expressway near Northpark Mall today.  Investigators report that a car was turning left from Park Lane onto the service road, when it was hit in the intersection by a car traveling eastbound on Park.  One person in the turning car was injured, and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

One killed, five injured in Grand Prairie crash

One person was killed and five others were injured in a head-on crash in Grand Prairie.  Authorities say that a man was driving his car in the wrong direction on I-30 early Sunday morning when he hit a pickup truck.  A second car traveling behind the pickup truck was also involved in the crash.  The driver of the first car was ejected from his car and died at the scene.  The driver and passengers of the pickup truck and second car were injured.

Man dies in rollover wreck on I-35

A man was killed early this morning in a rollover accident on I-35 in north Fort Worth.  The man, Fernando Torrez, was heading southbound on the highway and driving a 2003 Toyota truck.  Witnesses report that the truck made an abrupt move and began to violently roll over.  Torrez was ejected from the truck, landing in the path of a tractor-trailer.  The tractor-trailer attempted to swerve, but was unable to avoid hitting the body.  Torrez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tractor-trailer hit by TRE train

A tractor-trailer rig was hit by a Trinity River Express train this week in far east Fort Worth, near Arlington.  The wreck occurred at the intersection of the TRE tracks and Moiser Valley Road, west of Farm Road 157.  Both the train and the truck were damages.  The train passengers were loaded into another westbound train.  Rail service resumed the next morning.

Man injured in Mesquite wreck

A motorcyclist was injured today in a wreck near Town East Mall in Mesquite.  Authorities report that the man was riding a motorcycle in heavy traffic when a car swerved into his lane.  The motorcyclist lost control of his bike and went down onto the pavement.  Inclement weather may have played a part in this accident.

Two injured in wreck in Denton

Two drivers were injured yesterday in a wreck on I-35 in Denton.  The accident occurred near the Carroll Avenue exit.  Authorities report that one driver, who was proceeding in the left hand lane, swerved suddenly to the right, coming into contact with a car that was driving in the right hand lane.  No other cars were involved in the incident.

Euless woman injured

A Euless woman was injured in a recent one-car accident.  Authorities report that the woman, who was driving, apparently lost control of her car on McArthur Boulevard in Irving.  The woman crashed into a telephone pole, injuring herself.  Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.  Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.

Man died at John Peter Smith hospital pharmacy

A man died earlier this week in the pharmacy of John Peter Smith hospital in Fort Worth.  Witnesses report that the man was discovered slumped over in a chair.  Help was called, but medical personnel did not arrive for at least ten minutes.  When help did arrive, a non-functional defibrillator was first used on the victim but apparently it was not charged up.  Emergency responders then tried to use a second defibrillator, which also did not work.  Medical workers then tried CPR and took the man away from the pharmacy for further treatment.  Their attempts to revive the man were unsuccessful.

Skillman Street wreck injures three

Three people were injured in a wreck on Skillman Street in east Dallas today.  Authorities report that a Ford sedan was speeding in the rain when the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle.  The sedan hit a light pole in the median, causing substantial damage to the car and sending its driver and two passengers to the hospital for treatment.  No other cars were involved in this accident.

Police chase wreck injures five

A Garland man fleeing police in his car this week caused a wreck that sent five people to area hospitals, including himself.  Authorities report that the suspect was spotted driving a suspected stolen car on I-35.  The man sped away, causing a number of minor accidents on the highway, and later a major accident at Cadiz and Riverfront Boulevard near downtown Dallas.  Two pickups and an 18 wheeler were also involved in the wreck.  Police were not chasing the man when the major accident occurred.  The suspected will be charged with evading arrest, traffic violations, and also on outstanding warrants from Addison and Garland.  The victims of the major accident were taken to area hospitals, and are expected to recover fully.

Recent Keller schools graduate dies in motorcycle accident

A recent graduate of the Keller school district died yesterday in a motorcycle accident in north Fort Worth.  Authorities say that Austen Ussery, 18, died very early Tuesday morning as a result of blunt force trauma he sustained in the motorcycle wreck.  Ussery was ejected from his motorcycle, which he was riding in the 3500 block of Keller Hicks Road near the intersection of Alta Vista Road.  Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of this tragic accident.

Dallas accident injures two

Two people were injured in an accident today near the intersection of Hatcher Street and Malcolm X Boulevard in Dallas.  Authorities report that a car was struck from behind after it stopped suddenly while traveling along Hatcher.  Two people riding in the first car were taken to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries.  No word on what caused the car to stop suddenly.

Two injured in wreck on Lovers Lane

Two people were injured today in a wreck with a box truck on Lovers Lane.  The individuals were riding in a Ford Taurus and were in the left hand turn lane of Lovers on the overpass of Central Expressway / U.S. 75, preparing to turn onto the southbound feeder road of the highway, when a box truck was traveling alongside.  The truck sideswiped the Taurus, forcing the car to the left.  Four people were riding in the car when the accident occurred.  Two escaped injury.  The two victims were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

One killed in wreck with police car

A man was killed when his disabled Jeep Cherokee was struck from behind by a police car early Thursday morning in Dallas.  Authorities say that the victim, 59 year old Terry Glover, was driving his Jeep when it broke down in the center lane of Polk near Camp Wisdom Road.  The police car was traveling on Polk and the officers apparently did not see the disabled Jeep.  They struck the car from the rear, pushing it through a metal fence and into the front yard of a home.  Glover was taken to an area hospital for treatment, but died later that day.

East Texas wreck killed three from Metroplex

A blown out rear tire cause an East Texas wreck that killed three individuals from the DFW Metroplex.  Authorities say that five people were riding in a Ford Taurus on I-20 near Tyler when the left rear tire blew out, causing the vehicle to lose control and hit a tree.  The driver and one passenger were injured, but survived the crash.  Three other passengers were killed the in wreck.

Dallas man dies in crash on I-20 in Grand Prairie

A Dallas man was killed last weekend in a crash on I-20 in Grand Prairie.  Authorities report that Edgar Francisco Ramirez-Sanchez was traveling eastbound on the interstate when he lost control of his pickup truck.  His vehicle spun out of control and struck a guard rail.  Ramirez-Sanchez, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from his vehicle and pinned underneath it.  He died at the scene.  One passenger suffered a broken clavicle and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Motorcyclist killed in hit and run accident in Lewisville

A motorcyclist was killed early Sunday morning in a fatal accident in Lewisville.  Authorities report that a SUV collided with the motorcyclist near the intersection of Business 121 and Bellaire Boulevard.  The SUV drove away from the scene, and authorities are seeking that vehicle's driver and passenger.  The SUV was a late-model dark gray or black Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban, and should have significant front-end damage.  The motorcycle driver was killed at the scene, and a passenger was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Pedestrian killed in incident with car in Fort Worth

A pedestrian was killed today in a wreck involving a car near the intersection of I-35W and Seminary Drive in Fort Worth.  The victim, Salvador Ramirez, 21, of Fort Worth, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His cause of death was determined to be "blunt force trauma due to motor vehicle-pedestrian collision."  Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of this tragic accident.

One person was injured in a wreck today on I-45 in Dallas.  The accident occurred on the highway near the S. 5 die in head-on crash

23 injured in condo balcony collapse

23 people were injured when the balcony of a condominium unit in Austin collapsed.  The incident occurred during a party at the Garden Court Condominiums about four miles from downtown Austin.  Authorities believe that 30 people were on the balcony when it collapsed.  Area hospitals treated the 23 hurt individuals for injuries ranging from cuts and scratches to bone fractures.  Fortunately, no one was killed in this incident.

Flower Mound man killed in wreck in Oklahoma

A Flower Mound man was killed in a rollover accident in Oklahoma.  Authorities say that David W. Zondor was driving on Oklahoma 89 in the southern part of that state when his car left the road for an unknown reason.  The car rolled over twice and threw the victim from the vehicle. Zondor was wearing a seat belt when the tragedy occurred.  Zondor was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, but died of massive injuries.
