Arlington police officer injured in crash

An Arlington police officer was injured Thursday when his car was struck by a man suspected of drunk driving.  The accident happened on a service road of Texas 360 in Arlington.  Authorities say that the officer had the green arrow to turn, but the suspect was speeding through the intersection and struck his vehicle.  The officer and suspect were both taken to area hospitals for treatment.

Arlington man injured by hit-and-run driver

An Arlington man is being treated in a Little Rock, Arkansas hospital for injuries he suffered when he was hit by a hit-and-run driver while walking across a road in Texarkana, Texas.  The victim, David Puckett, had run out of gas and was walking along the side of the road to find assistance when he was struck.  Authorities are looking for the hit-and-run driver, who they believe was driving a 2007 or newer Chevrolet Silverado that should have damage to the right front.

Wreck spills pipe over overpass

A wreck on an I-35W overpass near that highway's intersection with I-20 caused pipe to spill from 35 onto the main lanes of 20, below.  The overpass was closed and blocked by the wrecked truck and its spilled road.  A school bus ran into some of the pipe and the big rig spilled, but fortunately no children were on the bus at the time.  Two ambulances were dispatched to the scene.  No word yet on injuries.

Wreck kills one, injures one

A car wreck in Fort Worth Sunday injured one and killed another.  Daniel Heinrich, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in the 2200 block of Jacksboro Highway.  Debra Barber, 59, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.  One man, Manuel Valles, is being held in the Mansfield Jail, and is facing intoxication manslaughter charges for his role in this deadly crash.  Authorities are continuing to investigate this fatal crash.

Motorcyclist killed in Fort Worth wreck

A motorcyclist was killed in a recent Fort Worth wreck.  Investigators believe that a car failed to yield at the intersection of East Northside Drive and North Main Street, and struck the motorcycle during a left turn.  The motorcyclist, Luis Ruiz, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver fled the scene but was caught in his home about a mile and a half away.  He has been arrested on suspicion of intoxicated manslaughter.

Kennendale woman killed in Fort Worth wreck

A Kennendale woman was killed in a wreck on East Loop 820 in Fort Worth.  The woman was identified as Jerilyn Moore.  She was traveling southbound on the highway when her pickup truck struck a guardrail and went over.  The truck landed in a grassy area below the pavement.  Ms. Moore was ejected from the vehicle.  She was pronounced dead shortly after the wreck.

Hit and run injures child on bicycle

An 11 year old boy was injured when he was recently hit by a pickup truck in the parking lot of a Walmart in Burleson.  The boy was riding his bicycle when the accident occurred.  The boy was riding through parked cars when he emerged into traffic and was struck by the pickup as it passed him.  The boy fell to the ground.  He was treated at a Fort Worth hospital for his injuries, and has been released.  The pickup truck did not stop, and authorities are trying to locate the driver.

Charter bus wreck near Sanger injures 18

A charter bus accident north of Sanger, near Denton, injured 18 passengers.  The bus was northbound on I-35, transporting passengers from Dallas to Oklahoma City, when the driver apparently experienced a sharp pain in his abdomen.  The driver swerved and struck a concrete barrier.  A total of 18 people were injured in the accident, including five who were ejected through the vehicle's side windows.  Injured passengers were treated at area hospitals.  All are expected to survive.

Motorcyclist killed in wreck on North Central Expressway

A motorcyclist was killed early Sunday morning in a wreck on North Central Expressway.  The accident occurred near the Walnut Hill Lane exit.  A witness says that the rider was traveling at a high rate of speed when the motorcycle struck a car from the rear.  The motorcyclist went through the back window of the car and into the car's passenger compartment.  The motorcyclist did not survive this accident.

One injured in wreck at 183 and Loop 12

One person was injured in an accident today that occurred on Highway 183 near the intersection of Loop 12.  Authorities say that the accident was a moderate speed fender bender that occurred because the rear car was following the front car too closely.  One person riding in the rear car was injured, and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.  Traffic was backed up to Empire Central.

Frisco man dies from injuries sustained in crash near Terrell

A Frisco man has died from injuries he sustained several weeks ago in a firey crash on I-20 near Terrell.  The man, Wyndell Greene Sr., was badly burned in the accident.  The wreck claimed the lives of Greene's wife and their two children.  The wreck was caused by an 18-wheeler that struck the Greene's vehicle from behind, causing it to become wedged up against another tractor-trailer before it burst into flames.

Driver killed in North Richland Hills wreck

One man was killed in a wreck in North Richland Hills.  Authorities say that the man, Juan Rosales, crashed on Loop 820 early in the morning.  The wreck involved only the car that Rosales was driving.  No other person was injured in the crash.  Authorities continue to investigate the cause of this fatal accident.

Two killed when pickup crashed into bus stop

Two men were killed when a pickup truck crashed into the bus stop in the 5300 block of Harry Hines Boulevard.  The driver, Julian Cadena Cerda, may have been drunk when the wreck occurred, and is being held in a Dallas County jail with intoxication manslaughter charges pending.  Cerda appears to have hit a tree before he crashed into the bus stop.  The victims, who may have been homeless men who were sleeping in the bus stop, were pronounced dead at the scene.

One killed, one injured in two-vehicle wreck near Weatherford

A man was killed and another was injured in a two-vehicle wreck near Weatherford.  The accident occurred on Farm-to-Market Road 51, north of its intersection with Friendship Road.  The deceased, Gary Campbell, was driving a pickup truck in the southbound lanes when he went off into the shoulder.  He overcorrected back to the right, and veered into oncoming traffic, where he collided with an SUV.  Campbell was not wearing a seat belt, and was pronounced dead at the scene.  The other driver was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Two injured in wrong-way wreck on Stemmons Freeway in Dallas

Two people were injured in a wreck that occurred after a suspected drunk driver drove the wrong way for approximately 8 miles on northbound Stemmons Freeway, I-35E, in Dallas.  The driver, Jose Chavez, crashed head on into another car near Market Center Boulevard.  Chavez and the driver of the other car were injured.  Both were taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital for treatment.  The other driver has since been released.  Chavez has been transported to the Dallas County Jail.

One hurt in SUV rollover crash in Oak Cliff

One person was injured today in an SUV rollover crash in North Oak Cliff.  The accident occurred on Colorado Boulevard near the Stevens Park Golf Course.  Authorities believe that a Nissan SUV was traveling on a side street and ran a stop sign.  A Volkswagon SUV was traveling on Colorado and was struck hard in the side by the Nissan.  The Volkswagon rolled over, coming to rest near a tree in a front yard.  The driver of the Volkswagon was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Two injured in wreck on I-30 in downtown Dallas

Two people were injured early Wednesday morning in a wreck on eastbound I-30 near downtown Dallas.  Investigators report that the two cars were traveling in the far left lane of the highway when the front car suddenly stopped.  The rear car slammed into the front car, injuring the driver and passenger in the front car.  Noone in the rear car as injured.  Investigators believe that rainy conditions may have played a part in this accident.

Dallas area family in Hillsboro crash, one killed, 12 injured

A six month old child was killed and 12 other family members were injured in a crash in the Hill Country region of Texas.  The family hails from the Dallas area and was traveling to Mexico on vacation.  Authorities report that a tire blew out on the van the family was riding in, causing the van to roll over several times in I-35E about six miles north of Hillsboro.  The infant, who was not riding in a child safety seat, was killed instantly.  The victims were taken to several area hospitals for treatment.

Motorcycle crash kills one

A motorcyclist was killed early Sunday morning after he lost control of his bike, hit the back of a vehicle and was run over by a second vehicle.  The accident occurred in the 6000 block of East Loop 820 in Fort Worth.  The motorcyclist apparently lost control, drifted into the right shoulder lane, and steered back into the roadway, striking the back of a vehicle.  Witnesses report that the rider was thrown from his bike and his by a second vehicle.  The motorcyclist died at the scene.  Neither vehicle stopped.

One hurt in wreck on I-20 near Hampton Road

One person was injured in a wreck today on I-20 near Hampton Road in south Dallas.  Authorities report that a Toyota Corolla rear-ended up passenger van at a speed of approximately 40 miles per hour.  The occupants of the van and the driver of the Corolla escaped injury.  The Corolla's passenger, however, was not so lucky, and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Box truck wreck injures two

The driver and the passenger of a pickup truck were injured today in a wreck with a box truck on I-635.  The accident occurred near the city limit borders of Mesquite and Balch Springs.  Authorities say that the pickup truck may have hydroplaned and skidded into the box truck.  Inclement weather appears to have played a role in this accident.  The driver of the box truck was not injured.  The driver and passenger of the pickup truck were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Driver injured in tanker truck wreck on I-10 in SE Texas

A tanker truck driver was seriously injured in a recent wreck on I-10 in southeast Texas.  Authorities report that a tanker truck carrying isobutane, a flammable, corrosive substance, overturned when it was involved in a two-vehicle wreck with a pickup truck.  The accident occurred near Hamshire, approximately 65 miles east of Houston.  The tanker driver was seriously injured, but is expected to survive.  It took hazardous materials crew four days to clean up the isobutane that was spilled in the crash.
