Second grader hit by pickup near school in north Fort Worth

A second grade student was hit by a pickup truck near Sam Rosen Elementary School in North Fort Worth last week.  The accident occurred near the intersection of NW 27th Street and Roosevelt Avenue.  The child, a girl, got out of her mother's car and apparently walked in front of a pickup.  The pickup driver was able to break before causing serious injury to the girl.  The child was taken to Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth and is expected to make a full recovery.
