It surprises many patients when they discover chiropractic doctors don’t treat symptoms. A traditional medical approach works on symptoms by using drugs or surgery to numb, slow down, speed up, or cut out the malfunctioning body part. Instead, chiropractic doctors find the underlying cause(s) of your ache or pain, and correct it. This improves symptoms naturally.

Judging your health by how you feel can be dangerous! The first symptom of high blood pressure is often a deadly stroke. The first symptom of heart disease could be a fatal heart attack! Because your body is so adaptive, by the time many symptoms warn you of a problem, it can be well advanced.

You can be healthy and still not feel well. Vomiting after eating improperly prepared food is a healthy response. Taking a drug to prevent your body from expelling the toxic food could be deadly! Fevers, diarrhea, and other symptoms are natural ways your body responds to infection and disease. Learn More

Houston Accident Victim Secures $1.5 Million in Compensation

A worker in Houston, Texas, tragically and unnecessarily lost his leg recently when his employer’s trash compactor malfunctioned, crushing his leg above the knee. When negotiations failed, the victim’s attorney filed suit against the man’s employer and the manufacture of the compactor. Last week, the employer settled with its former employee, providing $1.5 million in recognition of the firm’s negligent work environment and in order to compensate the employee for his loss.

The fight against the employer wasn’t easy—and the battle against the manufacturer of the faulty compactor remains—but the lesson is clear: a talented, hard-working, knowledgeable attorney can secure the compensation that accident victims deserve. If you’ve been injured at work, contact the personal injury experts at Fears | Nachawati. With our experience and expertise, we can win for you. Natural Gas Pipeline Explosion Kills One, Injures Seven

A worker was killed and seven others injured when a faulty gas pipeline exploded recently near the Johnson-Somervell county line. The explosion was caused when James Robert Neese, an employee of C&H Power Line Construction Co., used a high-pressure digger to drill a vertical hole and, in the process, pierced an underground pipeline with his auger. A report by the Texas Railroad Commission concluded that the explosion and ensuing damage resulted from the pipelines owner’s – Enterprise Products – failure to adequately mark the buried line in violation of the Texas Utilities Code.

Oil and natural gas pipelines cross much of Texas, including in heavily trafficked, urbanized areas. Unfortunately, accidents are all too common and, in many cases, cause serious injury and death. If you work in the oil and gas industry, you may be exposed to these dangers. If you’re injured in your work, workers compensation may not be enough. Talk to the personal injury experts at Fears | Nachawati today for full understanding of you case. For a free consultation, call 1.866.705.7584 or send an email to info@fnlawfirm.com. Road Debris a Major Cause of Concern for Texas Motorists

A Fort Bend county sheriff’s deputy, John Norsworthy, died recently when a piece of road debris obstructed his car’s path and forced him to take evasive action. Responding to an emergency call, Mr. Norsworthy approached a four-foot square board of thick material used for buffering sound. Mr. Norsworthy veered to avoid the debris, lost control of his car, crashed into a ditch, hit a tree and flipped. Unfortunately, Mr. Norsworthy passed away as a result of his injuries.

Texas Department of Public Safety reports show that objects such as those that led to the death of Mr. Norsworthy are a significant threat to drivers’ safety. In the last five years, road debris has caused 2,728 accidents, including 756 injuries and 19 fatalities. If you’ve been involved in an automobile accident and road debris was involved you should contact the personal injury lawyers at Fears | Nachawati. Texas Skiers at Risk of Skiing-Related Injury

Between Thanksgiving and mid-March, tens of thousands of Texans travel to the Rocky Mountains of New Mexico, Colorado and Utah. They participate in winter sports and skiing and most have a great time; however, an unfortunately large number succumb to skiing-related injuries. Despite ski facilities’ protestations about the “inherent risk” of skiing and other attempts to disclaim liability, important recent statutes and court decisions in these states have underscored that ski resorts retain liability for park terrain.

If you’ve been injured this winter in a skiing accident, contact the injury experts at Fears | Nachawati immediately. We understand the challenges you face and your legal needs. For a free consultation, call 1.866.705.7584 or send an email to info@fnlawfirm.com

Commission on BP Oil Spill Releases Report, Identifies Corporate Negligence

Last week, the National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and Offshore Drilling released its final report on the catastrophic spill. The Commission found that the Deepwater Horizon disaster was foreseeable and preventable. Specifically, errors by the responsible companies – BP, Halliburton, and Transocean – included inadequate safety procedures, failure to respond to repeatedly demonstrated problems, and ineffective response to the blowout once it began.

Thousands of Texans work in the oil and gas industry. As the Commission’s findings suggest, the oil and gas companies who employ these hard-working Texans routinely dismiss safety concerns, putting their front-line employees at significant risk. Unfortunately, workers – like the men working the Deepwater Horizon – pay the price for this corporate neglect.

In Texas, Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) Destroy Thousands of Lives Every Year

Traumatic brain injuries (TBI) affect 1.7 million Americans every year, including tens of thousands of Texans. Caused by motor vehicle accidents, falls, assaults, child abuse and recreational activities like as football, TBIs can result in symptoms that range from mild to severe. In many cases, symptoms include disorientation and loss of consciousness, as well as long-term effects like difficulty sleeping, depression and memory loss. A New England Journal of Medicine study recently found TBI victims are at increased risk of developing Alzheimer’s, dementia and Parkinson’s disease later in life.

If your teenager has suffered a head injury while driving or playing football, contact the TBI experts at Fears | Nachawati. The effects on his or her life could be life-long; the compensation he or she receives, therefore, should take this outcome into consideration. Apple lawsuit update

Fears | Nachawati has filed suit in federal court on behalf of its clients against Apple and various iPhone application makers, alleging that the companies violated consumers' privacy rights by tracking their private data.  The phones use a unique identifier (called a Unique Device ID or UDID) to track users personal information, including location, gender, age and contacts.  This private data is then passed along to advertisers without the knowledge or consent of Apple's users.  The lawsuit is pending in federal court in California.  Fears | Nachawati is considering filing suit against additional defendants, and is currently investigating whether Google's Android phone forces users to suffer the same kinds of privacy violations.

Apple lawsuit over privacy concerns

Apple, maker of the iPhone and iPad, has been sued on behalf of numerous consumers by Fears | Nachawati.  The lawsuit alleges that Apple allowed application makers access to users personal data, without the knowledge or consent of the users.  This data in turns allowed advertisers and marketers to track users unique data, including their location, online habits and activities.

Firm sues Apple and others over user tracking

Fears | Nachawati has sued Apple and a number of its iPhone application makers for various privacy violations.  The firm and its client allege that Apple and the application makers helped advertisers secretly create detailed profiles of iPhone users without their knowledge or consent.  Apple and the applications makers allegedly mined data from the consumers' use of their iPhones, including browing habits, location, and shopping habits.  This invasion is possible because Apple assigns a unique identifier to each iPhone, which allows advertisers to correlate data to specific individual end users.
