Careless Pickup Truck Driver Puts Motorcyclist in Houston Hospital
What happens when an F-350 makes a left-hand turn in front of an oncoming motorcycle? The results are painful and tragic, as Jimmy Gamble can attest after he watched helplessly as careless pickup driver “gunned” her engine and made a turn into his friend’s lane. The driver hoped that she could slip across the highway before Carl Barnett, the man driving the oncoming motorcycle, crossed her path.
Tragically, Carl Barnett was closer than she realized and, as a result, slammed into the side of her pickup truck. What adds insult to injury in a situation like Barnett’s is that the driver of the F-350 rolled the dice and took the risk – and the motorcyclist paid the price. As of earlier this week, Barnett was in a Houston-area hospital, fighting for his life.
