On an otherwise quiet afternoon this week in a Houston suburb a child was riding on her bike when a car surprised her, slamming into her bike, and causing her serious injury. Soon after, on-lookers near the accident called the paramedics, and a LifeFlight helicopter arrived to quickly shuttle her to Memorial Hermann Hospital.
Children are often involved in accidents like the tragic collision that took place this week in Houston. Sometimes, kids contribute to the cause of the accident, such as when they chase a baseball into the street. Other times, however, they aren’t at fault at all. In fact, as a result of their relatively small size, many children are injured every year simply because drivers aren’t paying close attention to what they are doing.
