Multiple Drivers, Multiple Litigants

An early morning accident on a Dallas highway this week injured a police officer and a bus driver. The wreck also endangered the safety of more than a dozen students. Ultimately, the crash involved three drivers, three cars, and at least three different insurers.

The accident occurred on the side of Highway 175 when a pickup truck carelessly clipped a patrol car that had pulled to the side of the road to help a stranded bus. Both the police officer and the bus driver were injured when the pickup truck forced the parked police cruiser into them. The officer sustained injuries to his leg requiring surgery; the bus driver’s hip was broken as a result of the truck driver’s recklessness.

Although two-car accidents are most common, multi-party wrecks occur more frequently than most drivers realize. Moreover, these accidents are often some of the hardest to address under the law.

When multiple drivers are involved in an accident, such as the early morning accident this week, the result is often several insurers and multiple litigants. It’s often a challenge to untangle precisely which driver is responsible for what property damage and personal injury. Disagreements about proportional responsibility and the disparate approaches to negotiation make multi-party accidents particularly difficult.

In the context of these challenges, you need experienced, talented, dedicated negotiators, counselors, and litigators. Fortunately, you’ll find them at the Dallas law firm of Fears | Nachawati. With years of courtroom experience, we know how to fight for you!
