Frances Shead, 86, of China Spring, TX Killed by Nancy Fore-Daniel in Car Accident on Wortham Bend Road near Waco, TX
On Wednesday, August 14, 2013 just after 6:00 P.M. 86 year-old Frances Shead was on her way to choir practice at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church in Waco, TX, when her Hyundai was struck by a motorist driving a Tahoe, who ran a stop sign near the intersection of Culpepper and Wortham Bend Road. According to investigating DPS Trooper D.L. Wilson, Shead was turning onto Wortham Bend Road after stopping at a stop sign, when she pulled into the path of a Tahoe, driven by Nancy Fore-Daniel, which struck and killed Shead. Injuries were also sustained by Daniel, 43, and her two children, Railey Daniel, 9, and Brenan Daniel, 8. The three were taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, stated Trooper Wilson. Below is a map of the area where the accident occurred:
According to the National Safety Council, traffic fatalities increased by 5 percent in 2012. A recent study has indicated that 36,200 traffic deaths occurred last year, increasing from 34,600 in 2011; the first increase in seven years.
In an instance like the scenario mentioned above, it would be very beneficial for the victim’s family to confide in an attorney. As a result of an individual failing to adhere to a simple and basic traffic sign, a woman is now dead for no other reason besides having the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. While no amount of compensation can ever replace a loved one, the expertise of a tenured personal injury and wrongful death attorney can bring justice to the victim’s surviving family members, and help them recover financially to help cover costs, such as final expenses, for the deceased family member.
If you have experienced the loss of a loved one due to the irresponsible conduct of others, you may be entitled to pursue a wrongful death claim against those at fault.
