As 3 people, 2 women and one man, were walking through a neighborhood one night around 2 am, 2 dogs attacked them. They were walking near the 8200 block of Leonora near Glen Prairie in Houston. The mauling led to the death of one woman—she was declared dead at the scene—serious injuries in the other—she was transported to Ben Taub Hospital—and minor injuries to the man. Houston Animal Control was able to respond and they caught one of the dogs. Officers returned to the scene to speak with the owner of the dogs, but he had fled and is presumed to have taken the other dog with him.
The victims of this accident and their families should contact an attorney at Fears | Nachawati to file personal injury civil claims against the dog’s owner for his negligence in properly containing his animals. A civil claim would require the owner to compensate the victims for medical expenses, pain, suffering, and anguish experienced during and after the attack, as well as funeral expenses for the women who was killed. If you or a loved one was affected by this accident or have had a similar experience, the successful personal injury attorneys at the Fears | Nachawati Law Firm can provide you with the legal expertise and representation necessary to effectively pursue a claim against the responsible party.
