Denton woman dies in wreck

A Denton woman has died from injuries sustained in a car wreck.  The victim, Debra Davis, was traveling northbound on Nottingham Drive when she collided with a pickup truck near the intersection of Mingo Road.  Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the accident, but they believe one of the drivers ran a red light.  Ms. Davis was taken by helicopter to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth where she later died.

Denton girl injured in Colorado tour bus crash

An 11 year old Denton girl was seriously injured when a tour bus in which she was riding veered off an icy mountain road in central Colorado near the town of Gunnison.  Seven other individuals were also injured in the accident.  The tour bus was carrying a group from a church in Denton on a ski trip.  Authorities believe that the bus driver was unable to negotiate a turn, and that the bus then rolled off the road and onto its right side.

Charter bus wreck near Sanger injures 18

A charter bus accident north of Sanger, near Denton, injured 18 passengers.  The bus was northbound on I-35, transporting passengers from Dallas to Oklahoma City, when the driver apparently experienced a sharp pain in his abdomen.  The driver swerved and struck a concrete barrier.  A total of 18 people were injured in the accident, including five who were ejected through the vehicle's side windows.  Injured passengers were treated at area hospitals.  All are expected to survive.

Two injured in wreck in Denton

Two drivers were injured yesterday in a wreck on I-35 in Denton.  The accident occurred near the Carroll Avenue exit.  Authorities report that one driver, who was proceeding in the left hand lane, swerved suddenly to the right, coming into contact with a car that was driving in the right hand lane.  No other cars were involved in the incident.

One kill, three injured in SUV rollover crash

One person was killed and three others were critically injured in a one-vehicle crash in Crossroads on U.S. Highway 380.  The man who was killed was pronounced dead at the scene.  Two crash survivors were taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital while a third was taken to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton.  All three were critically injured.  Witnesses report that the SUV, a Ford Explorer, was eastbound on the highway when the driver attempted to turn north on E. Rock Hill Road.  The driver lost control, the SUV hit the guardrail and then rolled over.

Accident in Denton injures two children, one adult

Two children and one adult were injured in a recent accident on I-35W in Denton, near the Golden Triangle Boulevard exit.  The victims were driving northbound in the far right lane in a small sedan when the car they were riding in veered into the side of another vehicle traveling in the same direction.  The sedan then pulled hard to the right, and ran off of the road surface.  The occupants of the other car were not hurt.
