A tractor-trailer struck and killed a female cyclist in an unfortunate accident in Boston, Massachusetts this morning. The accident happened around 7am at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Beacon Street when the truck, carrying a flatbed of steel, made a right turn onto Beacon Street and hit an unidentified female. The truck driver did not stop and according to officials, it may be possible that the driver did not see the cyclist and continued on his way.
The driver was caught out of state and is currently being questioned as part of an ongoing investigation. Officials have not yet classified the accident as a hit-and-run but will take a look at surveillance cameras to see whether or not the driver of the truck was aware that he had hit a pedestrian. Neighbors also state that in recent times, they’ve seen an increase in accidents at this particular intersection.
Unfortunately, truck accidents are quite common and many suffer as a result. From a civil standpoint, our firm has represented numerous victims and their families who are affected by a motor vehicle accident.
